Wednesday Evening Ride: 27th April 2022

With a decent forecast for the third week on the bounce, an 8:28pm sunset, and a route from "Master of the Lanes" Lucas Thomas – the ducks are lining up nicely for a cracking ride this Wednesday evening. If you’ve not got the Wednesday habit already, this could be the week to start.

Everyone welcome – see you outside Priory at 6:00pm ( best bring some lights to be on the safe side )

Saturday Club Ride : 23rd April 2022

After much consideration, here is the proposed route for this Saturday's club ride.

Although it should be dry, there is quite a breeze forecast. I have checked most of the route and there could be some road works to contend with near Kingston Seymour. We may need to vary the planned route.

Wednesday Evening Ride: 20th April 2022

This Weeks offering is a mainly flat ride via Puxton, Wrington and Kenn moor. "Mainly flat" of course, implies not entirely flat - the vertical feature this week come courtesy of the much neglected, Wrington Hill. Lovely!

Weather's looking pretty good, sunny spells and light winds say the Beeb, so put it in your diary.

Everyone welcome - so hopefully see you outside Priory School at 18:00 ( don't forget your lights )

Wednesday Evening Ride: 13th April 2022

After the torrential rain of week one and the 45mph winds of last week, I'm afraid our luck has finally run its course and I have no special weather feature to offer you this Wednesday. As I write, the BBC say "14 degrees, light cloud and a gentle breeze" - pretty benign stuff, borderline pleasant in fact. And so this week the burden of entertainment falls entirely upon the shoulders of the route itself. An Evening climb of Cheddar Gorge, always a treat, and exhilarating decents of Shipham Hill and Burrington Combe - I reckon that should do it!

Everyone Welcome - See you outside Priory School at 18:00 ( don't forget your lights )

Saturday Club Ride : 9th April 2022

Here is the proposed route for this week's Saturday club ride.

I've tried to avoid any regular roads that might be expected to be muddy, given the forecast rain for the next few days. And, although the wind shouldn't be an issue, avoid too much in the way of head winds.

The weather forecast for Saturday morning may be the best of the weekend, with even a little sun in prospect.

Meet up at 8:30am, outside Priory School.

NB. The Secretary is hoping to be taking part, but if possible please bring the route with you, just in case.

Wednesday Evening Ride: 6th April 2022

Wow …..domestic energy bills up another 50%. Let’s face it, even sitting around doing nothing is an expensive business nowadays. So rather than spend another evening under a pile of jumpers listening to the dogs teeth chatter, why not push back against the tyranny of the markets, and start generating some heat of your own on the Wednesday evening ride?

This week it’s the “Goldilocks” loop out to Mark and back via Chapel Allerton and Loxton. It’s so named because hopefully it’s not too hilly and not too flat. Should be a nice ride out, and we may yet see that much promised sunset over the levels!
Weather wise, it looks ok to me – but you might want to leave those deep section wheels at home!

Everyone welcome - see you outside Priory at 18:00 ( don’t forget your lights )
