Here's the route for this week. The weather looks good at this point - with a tailwind up the feature climb of the route.
Meet up outside Priory School at 6pm.
I'd recommend lights of some kind, the light is fading at the end of the ride.
With a brisk wind forecast from the SW but only a chance of a shower, here is the route for this week's Sunday club ride; trying to keep a headwind to a minimum.
Coffee stop at Rich's.
Meet up at 9am, outside Priory School entrance
In our series of Wheelers Specials, this week we have our Coast to Coast ride.
The plan is to complete a route encompassing Weston seafront and down to Lyme Regis - and back.
Route courtesy of our illustrious Chairman, Wayne, who has incorporated a café stop halfway there and halfway back. With the prospect of fish and chips being consumed on the Lyme Regis beach.
The plan is to leave Priory School, at 7:30am, and follow the route to the seafront and on to Lyme Regis. It will be a long day and the expectation is that we should be back probably 7 - 8 pm. This assumes a 30 minute café stop on outbound and return legs and 60 minutes in Lyme Regis for lunch.
It may be as well to have some form of lights in case of any delay.
Note. There are a couple of small amendments to the original route, please use the updated version.
At the moment, we are watching the forecast for Saturday.
Currently there is a 24 to 40 MPH wind forecast, coupled with the possibility of rain.
Given that this is a ride that is aimed at being on the easier end of the scale, this magnitude of wind is outside the acceptable weather parameters.
Check back later in the week for any updates...…….
As per a recent request, here is the route for this Wednesday evening's club ride.
Meet up at 6pm, outside Priory School. The weather forecast is looking like it will be dry for the ride, if a little breezy
