“Ad hoc” Weekday Ride: Tuesday 1st November 2022

********CANCELLED*******

Sorry Folks, the ride leader for this one has thrown a sicky - an informal ride may well still take place. So if you're planning to ride anyway, it might be worth a look.

This week’s “ad hoc” ride takes us up the Gorge over the top and down passed Chew Valley Lake for a coffee stop at New Manor Farm. Should be fun!

Meet up is outside the Grand Pier at 09:30. Everyone welcome, hope to see you there 😊

“Ad Hoc” Weekday Ride: Tuesday 18th October 2022

At a loose end Tuesday? Don’t waste it watching Hollie and Phil or Homes Under the Hammer, get that bike out and come along for a ride up to Portishead. The weathers not looking bad, “sunny spells and a gentle breeze” say the BBC at the time of writing, and there's the option of a coffee stop at Mokoko.

Meetup point is outside Priory school at 09:30 – everyone’s welcome.

Ad-Hoc Midweek Ride: 12th October 2022

#####NEW FOR AUTUMN 2022######## Ad-hoc Midweek Rides! – Starting Wednesday 12th October 09:30.

It’s amazing how many people seem to be out on their bikes during the week nowadays. Changed working practices, retirements and any number of other reasons mean that no matter what day you ride, you’re never alone. In recognition of that reality, the club is trialling the idea of Ad-hoc Midweek Rides.

The rides will be ad-hoc” in the sense that they’re not scheduled, and may be run on any day of the week - most likely Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. There’ll also be a variety of start times and meet up points. It won’t be every week ( dependant on weather and the availability of a ride leader) but when there is a ride the plan is to publish it on the Saturday before.

We’re looking to have a good mix of routes, short and long, easy and hard, with and without coffee stops. It’s very much a work in progress which may morph into something else or nothing at all – we’ll see

Notice is a bit short for the first one, it’s this Wednesday morning! - sorry about that, but if you do fancy a ride down to Sweets Café, meet up outside the Grand Pier on the seafront at 09:30. Hope to see you there 😊

Wednesday Evening Ride: 14th September 2022

The Autumn is finally upon us folks, which in cycling terms means the start of the Hill Climb season. We may not have a competitive Hill Climb event for you, but what we do have is the annual pilgrimage to THAT hill. Yes, you know the one I’m talking about, the innocuously named “New Road” ….better and more descriptively known as “Draycott Steep”. Should be fun!

Once again it’s on open ride, so everyone’s welcome. See you outside Priory School at 18:00 ( don’t forget your lights! )
