There is a possible road closure on Vole Rd, coming back from Mark, but I was able to ride through the road works a couple of days ago. There is an alternative we can take if necessary.

Postponed from last week, here’s something for the time constrained. A 40 mile no café stop ride up the Gorge which should have you home for midday. There’s the possibility of an add on ride afterwards if there’s enough interest – we’ll decide on the day.

Thanks to Russell for putting this 2nd Wheelers awayday together, and it’s fair to say it is a bit special. The route starts in Builth Wells, crosses the Cambrian mountains via the notorious Devils Staircase, before returning through the Elan Valley.
There’s no denying there are some steep bits – but they’re really not that long, walkable in fact. We’ll take it steady and all get around together.
If you like your scenery on the spectacular side, this one has it in spades. Cancel any plans you may have and put this ride in your diary – you really don’t want to miss out on this one.
( All counties for the drive to and ride are currently open – there is a fallback awayday plan should further Welsh lockdowns scupper the plan )

Currently there is no plan to post a ride for this Saturday.
The current weather forecast is pretty dire; strong winds and rain.
If the weather looks like it might improve, a ride may be posted on Friday evening.
How about a bit of Belmont hill this week? Aside from having been slightly neglected by the club of late, it's the chosen hill for the closed road Hill Climb event being staged by the UOBCC on 11th October. In a moment of madness, a couple of Wheelers have chucked their names into the hat. So why not come along Wednesday to see what they've let themselves in for.
