Sunday Club Ride : 27th November 2022

Here is the proposed route for this Sunday's club group ride.

The weather is forecast to be dry and only moderate winds. There might be some damp patches still, given the amount of rain recently, but we stick mainly to decent roads.

Meet up at 9am, outside Priory School. Café stop near Westhay

Saturday Club Ride : 26th November 2022

With a break in the wet weather, here is the planned route for this Saturday's club group ride.

I've tried to engineer a couple of straight tail-wind sections for a bit of fun, but also tried to minimise head-winds just in case the wind is stronger than forecast. There is always the possibility of a wet section, given the recent rain, so, if you have any, mudguards might be appropriate.

A reminder again, that this is an introductory level ride. There is no 'too slow' and everyone is welcome. The speed of the group will depend on participants.

Sunday Club Ride : 20th November 2022

The weather forecast is 'not good' for this Sunday. With that in mind, here is a suggestion for any hardy soul that is desperate to get out.

The route aims to minimise headwinds, although this means that in a couple of places, the crosswind will be 'noticeable!'

This may be a self-guided ride, so please ensure you have the route with you in some way. I wouldn't anticipate too may takers for this weeks ride.

Saturday Club Ride : 19th November 2022

After a few days, of inclement weather, this Saturday looks to be a welcome respite and should be decent for riding

Here is the proposed route for this Saturday morning's club group ride. Café stop at around halfway.

There was/is a signed road closure along Pill Rd on the return leg towards Rooksbridge, but I've been through there twice since the work on a bridge started and have been able to go though both times - last time it actually appeared to be complete. But there is an outside chance that we may have need to vary the route.

Meet up at 8:30, outside Priory School.

Saturday Club Ride : 12th November 2022

We seem to have a weather window opening for this weekend, so here's the proposed route for this week's Saturday morning group ride.

Meet up at 8:30am, outside Priory School.

Note. The Saturday morning club rides are at an introductory level. We will go at a pace that all participants can maintain. There is no 'top slow' for participants. Consequently, we won't be screaming off down the road, leaving anyone behind. If you want to try to set a personal best along a particular stretch, you are welcome. We will reform at the next junction or at the top of the next slope. All are welcome to come and try a group ride out.

“Ad hoc” Weekday Ride: Tuesday 1st November 2022

********CANCELLED*******

Sorry Folks, the ride leader for this one has thrown a sicky - an informal ride may well still take place. So if you're planning to ride anyway, it might be worth a look.

This week’s “ad hoc” ride takes us up the Gorge over the top and down passed Chew Valley Lake for a coffee stop at New Manor Farm. Should be fun!

Meet up is outside the Grand Pier at 09:30. Everyone welcome, hope to see you there 😊

Sunday Club Ride : 30th October 2022

Here is the proposed route for this Sunday morning's group ride.

I've tried to stick to better roads, as it's been so wet over the last few day. Let's see how that pans out.

Saturday Club Ride : 29th October 2022

Apologies for a late posting of this route, I had a major IT outage with my PC.

Here is the proposed route for Saturday morning. Meet up at 8:30am, outside Priory School.

As it's Café stop week, we'll be looking to have a coffee, etc at Rich's.

We should pick up a tail wind on the return leg - which is nice!

Sunday Club Ride : 23rd October 2022

The weather forecast is not good this for this Sunday. I have produced a route that is shorter than usual in case it is truly awful and kept to usually good roads to avoid muddy sections as much as possible possible. But to compensate for this, I've not attempted to avoid headwinds - although the wind forecast isn't too bad.

If it is raining hard at the start time, this may be a self guided ride, so please ensure you have the route with you in some form.

There is a café stop at Watchfield included in the route.

There are options to shorten the route if the weather is particularly bad and it is possible to add about another ten miles at the end, around Sand Bay and Wick St. Lawrence, to bring it up to standard length, should the weather be better than forecast.

As is generally the case, the weather forecasting services struggle to make accurate predications during showery spells, so the weather that actually arrives may be different to that forecast.

Meet up at 9am, outside Priory School.
