Sunday Club Ride : 4th September 2022

I did promise to post a route for this Sunday even if it's a self-navigating ride this week. It is quite late in the day but I really have agonised as to a suitable course.

With the weather forecast unable to make up its' mind - as far as the Met Office is concerned - it could well be a damp and windy affair.

But for those who really want to get out and blow away the cobwebs, here's a suggestion of a route.

The wind is forecast to be from the South or South-South East, so the route avoids too much wind in your face and may get some shelter from the Mendips from the worst of the wind. It's also a shorter than usual route, but if you were keen you could probably find a loop to add on to the end.

There are two potential café stops around Chew Lake, the 'Salt and Malt' at the North West end and the New Manor Farm to the South East. Last time I was at the 'Salt and Malt' they weren't keen on damp cyclists being inside, but you may be lucky. The New Manor usually has inside space and is sheltered in the courtyard.
