Rob Special Time Trial

The Rob Special Time Trial is a tribute to one of Rob Heathcote's favourite routes. The route mainly uses quiet roads between Ebdon Rd and Brent Knoll. Length of the route is 47 km (29.2 miles). The route is here; https://www.strava.com/routes/4284635 The Strava Segment can be found here; https://www.strava.com/segments/11602565 Rob Special   The route starts just to the north of the Ebdon Rd crematorium gates, out through Wick St Lawrence and West Hewish. A right turn onto the A370 and along to Silver Moor Lane, Summer Lane, up and past Banwell Caves, Christon, Loxton, Edingworth, turning right at East Brent towards Brent Knoll. Climbing over the knoll from the north, around to the right and then northwards to Lympsham. Passing along Accommodation Rd and into Uphill. Along the seafront and out again via the old toll road towards Kewstoke. The finishing straight is Lyfield Rd with the end point just before the junction of Ebdon Rd. General Advice; Generally, these are quiet roads, but the sea front can be busy, also, there are two short stretches of the A370, one of them involving a right turn. So, plan your attempt to try to avoid too many holdups on the way through. Be sure to take the correct road for the end of the segment. Back to Competitions and Challenges page.....
