Wheelers Tour of Lanzarote 13/10/15

  Second day and a great ride! This time taking us up and over the Timanfaya National Park with spectacular views. Next it was down to Playa Blanca for a quick coffee. Then it was the small matter of the Cat 2 climb over to Femes. Ouch! Just about completed and it was home ward bound back to Costa Teguise. Cheers  Pete and Duncan

Pauls Return Ride

  Another great ride today taking us out along the seafront out towards Brent Knoll. Along the Burnham seafront and then in land across the Somerset Levels. The return journey was via loxton, Christon and Locking back in to Worle.  This week the ride totalled 59 miles climbing 3000ft and averaged 15.5 mph. Portbury Pedalo

Another great route designed by Ben today. This time we went north to Portbury up Belmont Hill and along some lovely cycle paths. Next it was on to Portishead and then along the coast to Clevedon with amazing views across the estuary. A picturesque ride followed through Yatton, Congresbury, Sandford and Banwell. The ride covered 46 miles climbing 2000ft at an average speed of 15.5 mph. Thanks go to Ben, Jason, Greg, Duncan, Jack, Wayne, Paul, Andrew, Dave and Ian.

Wheelers Made the Mudgley Muddle

sweets 2   Todays Club run was blessed with beautiful sunshine and a gentle breeze, perfect for a Sunday ride. The route started with the new Grand Pier 10 mile ride open to all cyclists. From the Pier it was out to Brean and on to Highbridge. We then headed south west to Woolavington,  Cossington and then north towards Wedmore. At around 35 miles it was time for a pit stop at Sweets Café before heading back to Weston. This week we rode 62 miles and climbed 1600 ft averaging 15 mph. A big thanks go to Ben, Andy, Wayne, Paul, Simon, Jack, Greg, Dave and Duncan. Hope to see you all out again next Sunday

Sunday Club Run 20/09/15

The ride included the new 10 mile Grand Pier route which is open to all so why not join us next Sunday 9am Priory School. Wheelers Launch the Grand Pier Ride!

      Today the Wheelers launched the new Grand Pier 10 mile ride which is open to all cyclists. If you fancy club riding then this is a great way to start and join in the fun! The new ride from Priory School to the Grand Pier then forms the main sunday club run. Today the ride took us past the queue for Dismaland up Bleadon Hill down to Lympsham then on and over Brent Knoll. A nice flat ride through Mark and Wedmore and on to Cheddar. This time we tackled the Shipham Hill climb and the Longbottom climb over the Mendips and down Burrington Coombe. From there we had a steady ride back via Wrington and ST Georges. A good 55 miles of riding and 2300ft of climbing. A big thanks to Ben, luke, Daniel, Paul, Mike, Andrew, Merion, Greg, Andy, Chris and a warm welcome to Simon and Wayne.

Blagdon Bimble Brought Home!

    What a day for a ride! The route took us out to Yatton through Claverham and over to Wrington. Next was a picturesque ride around Blagdon lake to West Harptree where we picked up cycle route 3 climbing 500 Ft over the Mendips to Wells. A steady ride to Wedmore then Cheddar taking us too Axbridge, on to Banwell and back into Weston. The ride was 56 miles with 3000 FT of climbing averaging 15 mph. A big thanks to Merion, Andrew, Andy, Rich, Luke, Greg, Duncan and Ben with a special thanks to Paul for designing the route. The Wheelers are currently taking new members so why not join us for a club run. We meet Sundays at 9am outside Priory School.

Cheesy Challenge Achieved!

  Another wet one last night but that didn't stop us. A cracking ride out through Puxton, Sandford, Winscombe on to the A38 left to Axbridge and over to Cheddar. The Gorge was dry and quiet so made for a nice ascent. Luke took the KOM this time round just beating Gareth by 6 seconds. A fast descent down Burrington  followed and then  it was back to Weston. A big thanks to Luke, Daniel, Ben, Rich, Gareth and Andrew. See you all sunday. The club is now actively seeking new members so you are welcome to join us. :
