Great Weston Ride 2015

Some travelled by bus, some by car, some by car and trailer and some.. 6.45am Priory School 8 wheelers set off on the 20 mile up to Ashton Park and ride. 8.15am and 3 more Wheelers arrive! It was a great turn out for the club. The ride itself was a fantastic, some followed the blue route and some the yellow. Both routes were challenging and rewarding. A couple of stops and 90 + miles later we arrived home to a cheering crowd of family and friends. I was proud to be a wheeler on Sunday especially when hearing other cyclists positive comments as we cycled past them in yellow and blue. Thanks everyone! Pete

Sunday 12th July

Six brave souls turned out for sundays club run this week under heavy cloud Paul Stone, Paul Gibbs, Andy Bemand and our Rising star Luke Lewis with a special guest appearance by Paul Watkins.

The route designed by Paul Stone took us out through St Georges across he A370 to Puxton. turning left at Sandford and again at Churchill we weaved our way back to Congresbury. It was our arrival at Claverham that saw the heavens open and torrential rain come down. Onwards and very much upwards we continued our plight through Clevedon along the coastal road to Portishead where Paul had a special treat called Naish Hill planned in. Rain sweat and tears along with a creaky bottom bracket and 6.7% later I was no longer a Naish virgin ! The journey home was a welcome one, and by unanimous decision the ride was cut slightly short as better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for a great route Paul with some great personal challenges and I look forward to more of the same hopefully minus the water next week. Pete
